Washer/Dryer

Welcome to "our" random tidbits of our generally boring life. Today, I am doing research on washers and dryers.

Washers:
Regular top-loading: uses most water, hold 12-16 pounds, easy to load laundry and add items midcycle, lowest performer. $300-650.

High-efficiency top-loading: use less water, and discs that lift and tumble laundry, spins at high speeds making clothes more tangled and wrinkled. $800-1200.

Front-loading: lift clothes to top then drop into water. hold 12-20 pounds, wash best with low-foaming detergent, stackable. $700-1600.

Dryers:
Gas dryers cost about $50 more than electric models.
Should always get one with moisture sensor.
Capacity can be ignored.
Steam dryers have garment quantity limit, and prices start from $1100.

Conclusion:
High-efficiency top-load or front-load washer.
Steam dryer not necessary.
Color does not matter.
